Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19. September 2026 · applies to the Magic Notes iPhone app and this website. The German version is the binding one.
In short
Magic Notes collects no personal data, shares none, and connects to no server. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising.
Microphone and speech recognition
During a performance the app listens in order to recognise the number that is said out loud. For that:
- The microphone only runs while the app is open and in the foreground, with a note open, and the device is lying face down. If any of that is missing, the app records nothing. It does not run in the background: there are no background modes.
- The conversion to text happens on the device. No audio and no text is transmitted to us or to third parties.
- None of it is stored. The recognised number sits in the open note and disappears with it.
Permission for microphone and speech recognition is requested by the system. You can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings; the app will then no longer show an answer, but it keeps working.
What stays on the device
Only the app’s settings are stored: the selected language and the rehearsal switch. They live on the device and are removed with the app. Typed note text is not stored.
No sharing, no tracking
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party libraries, no network connection. This is why the App Store listing says “Data Not Collected”.
Visiting this website
This website sets no cookies and embeds no third-party services. When you visit, our host Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestraße 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen processes technically necessary server logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser identification) in order to deliver the page and keep the service secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the logs are deleted after a short period and are not combined with other data.
Purchase and the App Store
The app is distributed through the App Store, where Apple’s privacy policy applies. We have no influence over those processes and receive no personal data from them.
Your rights
You have the rights set out in Art. 15 to 21 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since we collect no personal data, we will generally not hold any data about a given person; write to us anyway if you have a question about it.
